Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
My kit arrived about an hour ago..... 3 days from Hobby Link Japan to regional South West, Western Australia...... I thought I'd share my joy of opening the box for the first time...lol
I will post more pictures of the parts unwrapped and full instructions as time permits...... I hope you enjoy these ones for the time being. UPDATED WITH MORE PICS..... SEE PAGE 3 The box it was packed in was HUGE.... compare it to the Tamiya 1/24 Enzo box. Yep.... there does seem to be something down there in the bottom of the box. And just when you think the box is just about empty...... No... theres still an insert to remove...... revealing yet more pieces. Then theres also the box containing tyres, seats, tool, screws and other metal parts etc. Strangely, tamiya gives us two sets of vinyl seat faces, one pair in red and the other in salmon pink!!.... I would have much prefered the second set be molded in hard styrene instead and could be painted any desired colour. The box details mention 653 parts, not sure if this includes all the screws etc, but either way, there are plenty of parts included. I have to say after a quick look through the contents and the 91 step, 36 page instruction manual this kit has SURPASSED MY EXPECTATIONS..... EXCELLENT KIT and well worth the price of admission...... HLJ's preorder price atleast...lol More to come when time permits, let me know if there is anything you would like to see in more detail and I will try to accomodate. Regards, Dan

LOL, no I didn't NEED one either. My wonderful wife and kids bought me this kit as a 40th birthday present...... I managed to convince them I needed it a few days early though, so I could share it with other interested modelers around the world....lol Regards, Dan

Here are the instructions for those interested.
I was a bit dissapointed recently when HobbySearch went against their usual practice and didn't post scans of these instructions..... at least you can see them here now. Appologies for the iphone pics but I have uploaded them a bit larger than usual in the hope that they are legible..... PATIENCE might be required while they load. OOPS.... Bandwidth exceeded..... try the link below instead http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...errari%20Enzo/ Regards, Dan

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
I remember when I had in my shop the semi build version (done as semi build to avoid the commissions to ferrari, nearly placing it as a "kit" on the market and it was not).
The finished version raised really the perfection in quality, specially in the paint finishing.Too nice one, and shame on me I cannot save any of the reds, yellows and blacks I had and sold as bestellers. I did only with one Silver Carerra gt...but thats another story, and first of all is NOT a Ferrari

Would love to see the Carerra GT and Ferrari GTO get the same treatment as I'm not planning to get the diecast, but would love to build them myself.

Oh my GAWD!!!!!!!!!
really nice to see Tamiya also not skimp on the details, more like a Hiro kit, I applaud Tamiya for actually putting the wiring and all the extra little details in the instructions, too bad I'm no way spending that type of money on the kit though, that would be very fun to do.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
sorry if I missed this but is this the old 1/12 ready built they used to have sold as a kit?
I remember seeing one of those on display and it looked much better than the die-cast equivalents at the time.

Yes it is, Word has it that Tamiya added or changed some of the details from the ready made version I suspect so that is can be assembled easier.

Re: Tamiya 1/12 Enzo Ferrari..... Whats in the box... First Look
WOW!!!
Anyone wanna buy my kidney? I was worried when I heard the release that this would be their "semi built" kit supplied as parts or an upscaled 1:24 enzo, But Man oh man is it not!!! A massive thank you to Tamiya for not forgetting the 1:12 scale modelers out there, who have been dying for a new modern 1:12 kit!!!! I highly suggest they do an ariel Atom! oh & the F50 & FXX as 1:12 kits!!!
