Hi all,
I have one of those Y 10 wingroad wagons, ga 15 engine doin about 190k. The car started vibrating when accelerating and usually lessens when reaching bout 100km/hr, but up to yesterday the vibration is continous now. Car is not running smooth at all. In feb i changed out vel joints, frt shocks, steering ends and eng mounts... Note: bout 2 weeks after all these parts were put in, the vibration started, but was very slight...I didnt bother bout it until it started to get worse now.... what could be the problem???? any help would be appreciated............. |

Things to look at: -Tie rod(s) - Wheels(balanced?) - Bearing What is frequency of vibration - does it change with speed. Generally high pitched or low pitched. Does it rattle your whole dash, or is it just annoying? Does vibration seem to come from in front or from rear or from all around (tricky question as cars are weird when it comes to transmitting sounds/vibrations!) I coulda sworn my 96 Contour(that's Mondeo to the rest of you) had a bad RIGHT-front wheel bearing, but the mechanic showed me the LEFT-front, and said I had a couple hundred mi to go before it fell off! Charged me for a new one and only 1/2 labor, but most importantly he saved my life. |
