90 Camaro – Rough/High Idle
I had a situation recently where I had the engine stall when coming up on a stop sign/light and had to restart the engine. I have since taken the advice of the suggestions posted here to solve that problem. I removed the EGR Valve and the IAC Valve and cleaned the carbon deposits, reassembled, and performed the Idle Learn Procedure which solved the stalling problem. Now, I seem to have an issue with the idle fluctuating up/down on a cold start and then settles down after a minute to a rough idle. After driving and getting vehicle to temperature and later putting it park, the idle runs high until I tap the accelerator and then it returns to an idle that is normal. I removed the IAC Valve a second and third time to examine it. The vehicle has about 50,000 miles on it. Does anybody think it might be something else ?.....

Make sure the throttle plate is not sticking.......look for vac leaks when starting yo cold by spraying carb cleaner around the top of the engine......
