2 Problems with 2003 Dakota
First problem is the A/C. When cooler warm (85 degrees) temps and need ac on, you get slightly cooler air. When it is really hot (95 degrees), you get hot air blowing. Is compressor out or could it be something simple. Freon in it is full.
Second, I have to add a quart of oil at least on a weekly basis. I know I do burn a little but doesn't seem like it should be a quart low every week. Maybe have a leak somewhere and what are common locations for this year/make of truck to look for and is it worth the time to fix it or the money to have it fixed? 2003 Dodge Dakota Club Cab V6 motor 148,939 Miles Thanks |

Re: 2 Problems with 2003 Dakota
TJ, are you sure it's full of freon? Sounds like it might be low. As far as the oil consumption...have you replaced the pcv valve lately? You truck may have a seal or a valve cover leaking. Do you ever smell smoke? Have you looked underneath your truck lately? An old trick is to lay newspaper or cardboard under your engine on the ground in the evening and go out in the morning and look for signs of leakage on the cardboard the next morning. My 2003 hasn't got any leaks yet.
