What is the greatest sound reduction that can be achieved by car windows?
I have seen these solutions when it comes to glass, not sure which ones are applicable to car widows:
1. Acoustic laminated glass, using PVB or EVA interlayer. Can reach 40 STC. 2. Double-Glazed Glass, also reaches 40 STC. 3. A combination of the two above, reaching 50 STC. 4. Acoustic film. Have seen quotes of 3 to 5 dB noise reduction. I am curious also as to what is the STC or SRI of the various types of bulletproof glass. Are there any commercially available bulletproof windows designed to also be sound resistant? |
