Help requested to identify this classic

Hey classic car guys,

I'm a car guy but not a classic car guy so I'm stumped and could use some help.

My mom is putting together a scrapbook for my 80-year old stepdad who is suffering from dementia. She has this picture of a classic car that he treasured from before they met. We don't know what make or year it is and I'd love any help in identifying it. I've attached a scan of the picture

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Drive well,

M3Mark3

Wow, that was quick! You rock!

Comparing it to a pic at http://www.conceptcarz.com/z18291/De...om-Series.aspx makes it clear it is a Desoto, a 49 or very close to...

Thanks for the quick response!
