Re: $60 for paint...

Well paint isn't only for 1 kit, so yes it's justified

I must have for over 150$ of paint right now, but once you have them, you will spend only few bucks for each model (0$ to 10$ in my case)

Re: $60 for paint...

the bottle of paint is what 1/2 oz
by the time you thin it out you could
have 3 or 4 oz of paint. this is after
you figure out how thin you need your
paint to be. the thinner you make it
the more coats you need to cover your
car. you will go through more thinner
then paint my friend!!!!
but the paint job will be worth the price

i spray bombed cars for years then i a got
a air brush for christmas and was like
wow the detail you dont lose to a heavy paint job
buy all the colors you can and enjoy

What kind of paint? I am spending nearly $250 on paint for my hot rod.

Re: $60 for paint...

For the initial investiment? Totally justifiable. You take a few years to use all of them. I even spend $5.00 for one bottle of Finisher's Color because it's so good.

lol it really depends on how skilled you are with paint... whether or not you can come up with a really good paint job... you dont want to waste $60 of paint on a crappy paint job... but i dont know how skilled you are, so...

Re: $60 for paint...

Man, I think I have about $250-300 of inventory if Tamiya spray cans alone. I've probably spent at least $700 on spray cans. If I wasn't such a lazy ass, I'd airbrush (I have one, but I just HATE cleaning it).

clem..

damn man 700 dollars?!

thats why im sticking with arcrylic paints since they are pretty easy to clean out of the airbrush. I am still gonna spray the body with cans i think though...

I dont mind cleaning them. Its not that hard. I have done it so many times I can do a full clean up in about 15minutes, it used to take 1 hour or so.
