here's a quick trick if you have PS6..
1. highlight the hood with the polygonal lasso, copy it and then paste it 2 times so that aside from the initial image you have 2 different layers with just the hoods. 2. make sure that these two layers are perfectly lined up with the initial image. if they aren't use the move tool (top right on the tool menu) to align them. Zoom in if necessary 3. select the top layer then hit Ctrl+U or Image menu>>Adjustments>>Hue/Saturation. reduce the lightness to '-100' until its pitch black. 4. adjust the opacity of the top layer so that its still dark enough but you can see some of the gloss/reflection on the hood's paint beneath. 5. merge down the top layer into the layer beneath it (the colored hood) 6. create a new blank layer on top (ctrl+shift+N) 7. use the line tool on the top layer to make a fine weave of black crisscrossing lines. It doesn't have to be perfect b/c look at any real CF hood and you'll see distortion in the lines' straightness. 8. when you're satisfied merge down the top layer into the black hood. 9. adjust the brightness contrast of the hood to enhance realism and emphasize the reflection depending on if you do it right it looks pretty convincing
