Won' Start .... A Different Twist
I have a 1995 LeBaron 6 Cyl Convertable.
When I try to start it, it runs for 1 second then cuts off. If I simply try to restart it, it will turn over all night long without ever firing again. If I turn the key off, then try to start it again, it will do the same thing - run for 1 second, cut off, then will turn over and over all night without starting. As long as I turn the key off before each attempt, it will go through this same cycle all night. I can replace parts, but have not done much work on cars since GM took the allen key adjustment off the distributor. Your help is really appreciated. Thank you in advance. Bob Hall |

Figured it out myself.
Never could find anything on the Net specific to this problem. I do remember problems trying to start it after it had been sitting for over 9 months. The bottom line was that the security system had shut it down electronically. All I had to do was to lock and unlock the driver side door key (the remote key fob was lost a long time ago). The first indication of impending success was that when I turned the key in the door lock, the security system chirped. It started running as soon as the key was turned in the ignition. Bob |

Re: Won' Start .... A Different Twist
Thank the gods you posted this. Just happened to me as well. Locked the car from the drivers side door and the alarm sounded, quit when unlocked. Now my 95 runs normal again
