Painting plastic motorcycle parts

Hello everyone this is my first post.
I want to paint my Goldwing Motorcycle, the panels are plastic. Could someone help me with some suggestions on a brand name of the panints and primer/sealer that could be used.
I would like a red metalflake. I have no experience and little money. Can anyone tell me the type of compressor spray guns etc.
If I am not on the right forum, please let me know the correct one
Paddy

Re: Painting plastic motorcycle parts

Welcome to the forum OldBiker1950. There are a lot of good paints available. I prefer PPG. The good thing about bike parts is that you will not need a lot of paint materials. House of Kolor also makes some awesome custom colors. If you are wanting the cheaper lines of paint, then PPG makes a lower line called Shop Line, which is less expensive. One of the most important things to remember with plastic is to apply plastic adhesion promoter over can bare plastic before applying primer.

I just created a post answering a question about spray guns yesterday. Click here to read that.

I'm not sure on the compressor, but you should not need one too big for bike parts.
