99 323i overheats when ideling! HELP!!!
I just bought a 99 bmw 323i and drove it from LA to Seattle. The car drove perfect the whole way except for when I was waiting at a drive thru sitting at idle for a few minutes and noticed that the car started to overheat. The second i started driving it went right back down to normal. I'm guessing it has to do with my fan. I've never heard it some on so i'm assuming a realy maybe?? First off, can anyone tell me where that relay is located and second, any other ideas what the issue could be?
Any help is very much appreciated.

I would guess the fan clutch is bad, in my limited experience ('88 750 and 90 325ic) the symptom you describe points at the fan clutch

you should go to the nearest carwash and clean your radiator and condenser. Make sure you open the pressure washer nozzle.

try cleaning your radiator first... and if it continues then I would blame it on the relays.
