'87 528e starting problem

ok...well i was messing around with the fuses earlier in the day becasue the fuse for the breaklight was loose. i drove for about half an hour parked it at the store for maybe 30 sec. went to start it up again and it wouldnt. starter doesnt seem to click but the slarter solenoid makes one click. just wondering if it could be something else besides the starter before i buy a new starter for no reason.

Re: '87 528e starting problem

I had a similar problem on a one of our work trucks. The click was not the starter solenoid, but the relay for the solenoid. Just a single click when the key was turned to Start. Problem was a loose connection where the solenoid wire connected to the starter. Good to check before you buy that starter....
