I don't hate the F50, I love it. I would rather have an F40, but I wouldn't think twice if someone offered me an F50.

2strokebloke, you were comparing the Mitsubishi's horsepower per cubic inch right? Now, I'm not an engieer or anything but I think the reason the Mitsubishi has better HP per cubic inches because the Mitsubishi engine is much smaller. The bigger an engine, the lower the HP per liter goes down, that's why the V10 Viper has 46 hp per liter. I could be wrong though, I heard about something like this a while ago.

F40 or F50? F50 for me. The F40 is like the girl you want to screw, the F50 is like the woman you want to marry. I rather have a nice wife than a sexy whore I'd love to drive the F40, but I'd want to own the F50 instead.

*I apologize for the language*

P.S My vote did'nt work, add one point for F50

That was an awesome comparison.

Its funny how you guys talk about the F50 not being a true racecar and being too soft. It was being such a racecar that gave the f50 its strengths and weaknesses.

Its handling was better than the f40's and that was because of its ultra stiff chassis with no rubber or springs. This combined with the chassis mounted engine was what made the ride so uncomfortable.

It is the engine that I think is the downfall. It is a downfall because it was designed around an already existing f1 engine. It was so low on torque because they wanted to make it as close to an f1 car as possible and that meant not increasing the displacement much.

In the end admittedly the F40 may feel a little more like a racecar than the f50, but its not like the f50 was soft, it still had roll up windows, no airconditioning, no carpet...... etc.

Also the f50 went around fiorano significantly faster than the f40. On most courses infact the F50 beats the f40, but on a few really high speed ones the f40 is capable of keeping up.

I will try to find some stats to back up my claims.

Im shocked to read those Nurburgring times. They couldnt have been driven very hard for fear of damaging them. To put things into perspective a 360 Modena laps in the low 8 minutes... are you gonna tell me the Modena is quicker than the F50 and F40?

exactly. and also, the F40 is TURBOCHARGED and the F50 is N/A. How much HP would the F40 be making if it wasnt turboed? gimme a break. he was talkin out of his ass.

the times just proved that an F50 is quicker around a track than an F40. and considering that the F40 is quicker in a straight line (at least after 100mph), it just goes to show you how well the F50 handles. And its by no means soft, its about as brutal as they come.

F50 for me ALL THE WAY
