I know the LS1 engine was put into the Z-28 in 98, and that just about

6 speed Z-28 to 0 to 60 in 5.1 or 5.2. I do agree that they are fast
cars, that they have more top speed than a 95 Maxima, but I wasnt
comparing top speed, only what I did when I raced my Maxima with the
Trans AM. The guy who said he beat a Z-28, I dunno if he did or not,
but he could of easily beat older Mustangs with his Maxima. I whipped
on GT's every race with my 96 5 speed Maxima easily..

BTW, your said Lt1's are running high 13's to low 14's. 02 - 03 Maximas
and Altimas with 5 and six speeds are running 14.0 14.2 s stock.

OK first off you answered your own question they said your car did 0 - 60 and you beat him to 100 MPH by a car length and yes you can compare a Northstar Cadillac to a Maxima and I think the Maxima is faster anyway but I go to the track all the time I love the 1/4 mile and unfortantly I also love getting on the car on the highway when I see another sports car while driving the Formula and I can tell you from experience that while having raced Mustang Mach 1's and Vette's and Trans Am's and 300zx's I have seen Maxima's try to catch up while I was getting on my car and I'm sorry but there is no way he was getting on his car, I have Neon's and civic all the time I will pull away fast and then slow down again but full out racing against a 95 or a 96 a LT1 would have killed you , now if there was something wrong with his car(which is totally possible because as we all know they are no Nissan's) yes its possible you stayed on his side but otherwise I just can't see it happening
Also will someone please give me a link to a website or online magazine where the Altima or Maxima does 14. -14.2 I keep hearing this but have yet to see the facts (also please no site's of people who own these cars)

How did I answer my own question? Magazines said the Sevilles are
faster than Maximas, but my Maxima beat two Sevilles. You said
we were beating cars that had resources 2 seconds faster than ours
and were wondering how Maximas beat Z-28s. That was my point,
magazines get better acceleration times for other cars, but in races
Maximas usually can stay with or beat cars that had better magazine
numbers.

You cant see a Maxima keeping up with a Trans Am because you
know nothing about what a Maxima can do..

MotorWeek.org has 14.4@100 mph for a 5 speed 02 Altima.
Motor Trend last 3.5 SE Altima they tested was 14.4@98mph.
Unless your LT1 is modded you couldnt pass a 02 03 Maxima or
Altima with 5 or six speeds.

you said you raced the car to 100 MPH not 60 mph and the Magazine said the other had a better 0 -60 time now unless you had the memory of a nat or don't bother to read the crap you write you would relize that the number from 60- 100 are different than 0 - 60 and on to my second point alright speed racer, Your out of your crack smoking mind if you think a 350 Cubic Inch stock LT1 with 300 Horsepower and 325 lb's of torque weighing in at 3300 lbs can't beat a Maxima or Altima and I'm so tired of you wanna be contender's and your trash talking that you can't back up and if you bother to do some research or go through the archives on the LT1's you'll relize they did better than 14.4 from 94 -97 in the F-body's, I'm not bothering to post in this thread anymore cause its just like talking to a wall so like I said before Maxima cool car sporty but no sports car and shouldn't be compared to one, PEACE!

The GM 3400 AND 3800 are slow, in every car. Only the FI 3800 can beat a max.

yeah, and don't get me started on the 3100 series. like the z26 beretta(i've had a few try to get the best of me...ha) and chevy lumina.
and the FI 3800 can beat a max given certain conditions. i've beaten a stock GTP in my car. when he reduced the size of his S/C pulley, it was a different story.

i have only raced the new eclipse gs, integra rs w/ headers, intake, 2000 prelude the base model w/ air fuel controler, pulley, headers, exhaust, rsx w/ intake, and the 2000 or 2001 accord v6 w/ intake. All of these cars i won against nothing to be proud of but ohh well.... and also i raced a gsx w/ a changed downpipe and i was winning until he ran right past me at the very end.... all i have is a CAI 97 max auto

First off who the fuck magazine races?

There are plenty of guys in a 5 speed Maxima STOCK that pulled 14.8 through the 1/4 mile. Just because a magazine got 15.5 doesn't mean that, that was the best possible time out of that car.

The V6 Camaros, Firebirds, and Mustangs are SLOW. I respect the pony cars, except for Mustangs, I love Z28s and Trans Ams. I got raped by a WS6 6spd, and I loved every moment of getting killed by it. Sounded so bad ass. I have an automatic Max with intake and ypipe. That WS6 was definetly a LS1, didn't understand why he was picking on me. I guess cause everybody in the car just glanced over.

But the V6 pony cars are a walk in the park for the Max. It all comes down to driver really, but if you magainze race, I don't know what to say...

The people who test import cars don't really push the ride or something, but when it comes to domestic cars they place faster times. They are very biased; that's how I see it.

All I can say is don't race a Northstar V8 from the roll, they will murder you.
They are heavy but get off the line pretty well for their weight but the 2nd gear in the Max is hell for them because of the lighter weight of our cars, so we say goodbye to them from 0-60, I don't care what a Magazine says.

I raced one of my employees Cadillac STS and he murdered me from the roll from about 40-100 but when we went from a standing start to 100, he was eating Maxima fumes, in fact he pretty much gave up after 35 mph because he knew that it was over and that he wouldn't catch me.

He even told me that last part after the race was over. Oh, btw that was in my 2k Max, so I wonder if he'd want to try it against my 2k3 Max.

well I will try to get this thread back on topic....I'm only gonna list the cars where the races were close that I've beaten:
'00 civic SI, a few mods, got him by 3/4 of a car
'92 acura integra, B16a J1 and other stuff, 3/4 of a car
'98 V-6 accord, somewhat modded, beat him by 3 cars

I've raced a few 2000-2003 mustang GT 5-speed and they piss all over me from a stop, but I can run with them from a rolling start.

I have a pretty much stock max and its a auto. So I only mess with cars that I know I have a chance in beating. Here are some worth mentioning:
-2001 accord V6 no chance
-1997 Grand am
-199? Oldsmobile ??? HAHA
-2001 Lexus RX300 one of the funniest races
-A few camrys waste of gas
-countless civics don't no whay I even bothered
Just to be fair here are sime cars I got whopped by:
-2002 Mustang GT Auto pretty close race
-1999 Firebird
-1999 Modded Max Auto just wanted to see how my max was doin

-LS1 Firebird (short race, but I took him nontheless, my best kill for sure)
-Turbo neon R/T, was actually a decent race, beat him by a couple cars.
-'98 Grand Prix GTP, on several occassions
-Several Grand Prix GT's
-'98 Mustang GT, whooped him good
-Couple WRX's, all on the highway
-'95 Cobra
-'04 Max (he initiated it, otherwise I usually don't race other maximas)

Cars that have killed me:
-STi, no wonder
-Several LT1, LS1's
-Couple 96+ Cobra's, including a Mystic
-'89 Mustang 5.0, I think it was s/c

I have never actually raced a Civic, believe it or not, and they are all over the place here in St Paul
