Re: Engine Swap

I've seen pics of a VQ35 swapped into a 3rd gen and it's been verified by Maxima gurus to be authentic. Try that!

Re: Engine Swap

^ what's the point? a 5.5 gen weighs as much as a 3rd gen and looks better. putting a 3.5 in a 4th gen would be the best power:weight ratio.

Re: Engine Swap

The VQ35 in a 4th gen has been accomplished by two people now. Track times and dyno is what I'm waiting for.

as much as i love the 5.5 gen , i'd sell my car in a second for a 3.5 powered 4th gen. i bet it'd touch into 13's with a good driver.

Re: Engine Swap

Undoubtedly; a 4th gen with bolt ons and the VI from a 5th gen can do 13.8 with street rubber.

Re: Engine Swap

hey if u put the DOHC VE(?) from the 92-94 Max SEs, will that be like a plug-and-play type deal or would you need a newer harness to go along with it?

Re: Engine Swap

I'm betting you'd have to do a ton of electrical work to adapt a VE30 to a 4th gen ECU.
