I've noticed a lockup of my rear tires when I'm trying to stop in 2wd only. when I'm in 4wd it isn't happening. Of course, it's only when the roads are snow covered. Anyone have any ideas ?

Re: problem with rear or brakes

Is it winter where you are? I live in minnestota and my 97 4x4 and my driver sidew rear would lock up. It would also clank and creak when i tried to unlock it. It turned out i had bad differential seals and they were leaking onto the breaks and other parts causing them to freeze shut.

Cool wheel locking up when touching the brake

sounds like you may have a bad brake hose going to your caliper.
on my taco the front brakes done that. i mean it would just about
throw you through the windshield, i checked every thing even put
on new shoes. it still done it, it was the driver side hose was dry
rotted, cracked. i put on a new one, it fixed it.
