Female here. Help? 98 Eclipse GS. acts like its running out of gas?

I've replaced ignition coil, camshaft sensor. It runs perfect for a few minutes & then acts like its running out of gas. It runs fine when I push the clutch in but as soon as i let off, it falls on.its face. Turn it off, wait a few mins & restart....runs pefrect for a minute or two & then does it again. I'm so tired of dealing with it. Please help before I set it on.fire. lol. What is wrong with my car???

Two diagnostic tests says its possibly loose camshaft and/or crankshafy position sensors or that it couldve jjumped time and/or be off a tooth or two. Thesr are not the problem. Now what? A gallon of gas and a match?

I agree. It runs too good for it to be the timing. The filter was changed and it made no difference. It cuts out real bad & won't take gas UNLESS you push the clutch in an rev it up. Then its smooth as glass. Let off the clutch & it falls on its face again. I have to turn the car off for a minute or two & then restart it -- it will run perfect for a few minutes and then does it all over.

Did you ever fix this? Seems a bizarre issue. So while it's in neutral it runs, and as long as you have the clutch engaged even if it's in drive, it's good. But as soon as you let off the clutch it dies? It seems like it's a mechanical problem but I'm not sure how the transmission/clutch effects the fuel system at all.

You girls know how to get a guys attention... "Female here". Or maybe you're a guy trying to get a quick response. Maybe you have a bad pressure plate/dragging clutch. Make sure your insurance is paid up before you get drastic. Although you be crazy to have full coverage on a car of that vintage.

Its none of the problems your fixing. Im haveing the same issues i replaced a fuel pressure vet valve located under the back seat on passenger side. You will see a plate it has 4 phillips screws take all 4 out and take a small flat screwdriver to the clip that witch holds the the wiring harness on. The take to napa and it will cost 89 bucks
