Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: Your Car Audio System

Hmm, i dont have the setup yet but everything is ordered.
2003 diamante ls

HU-Alpine IDA-x100(since i mainly listen to my ipod or radio)
Amp- Kicker 600 watts rms
Subs- Kicker comp vr 12s

The stock speaker set up sounds pretty nice(inifinty system) so im probably going to leave to speakers connected to the stock amp for now.

Sorry for the delay. I don't hang out here much.

Thanks. I find the mids are awsome. Strong midbass when fed a lot of power and they have a natural sound. The tweeters had no "sparkle". They wern't what i would call "alive" they were just kind of making sound (which isn't totally a bad thing). Swapping to a Zuki amp made them a bit more dynamic but I think that some other tweeters would be a better value. I would like to experiment with other tweeters, but i ran out of money.

I've swapped the D5 and Tantrum for a 4 channel zuki audio amp due to size constraints

Re: Your Car Audio System

two 12 inch kickers in a ported box with tweeter and speakers hooked up in the box--found at junkyard for 40 bucks
and i have a 1000 watt lanzar amp that i got off ebay for 70 bucks.
and a 40 buck phase linear head unit from pep boys, everything works like a dream, except for the cdplayer, everytime i hit a bump its pausing for 3 seconds, and sometimes when i start my car up the song wont start for like fifteen seconds. but besides that my system is ok. my trunk and roof rumbles, but i want it to start shaking crazy

Re: Your Car Audio System

im bout to do an ugrade on my current system, i recently removed the phase linear head unit and put in a dvd player, and in a couple minutes im going to purchase two 12 kicker cvx or cvr off of ebay, i dont know which i should get?

i want the cvx cause they hit harder, but would it be worth the price, when i can get two 12 cvrs for like 100 dollars?
