Mysterious switch under the steering wheel

Hello. I have a Camaro 95 V6. For a while now this switch was bugging me. I don't know what it is for. I tried switching it on and off, but nothing happened. I suspect that it activates the thing next to it, but I don't know what that is either. So I would appreciate it if someone explains it to me. I have attached a photo of the contraption.

Re: Mysterious switch under the steering wheel

The car probably had a aftermarket alarm, or maybe lights, installed and some point in time. See if there is a wire still attatched to it and follow it. It is not a factory switch.

Re: Mysterious switch under the steering wheel

Like the poster above me stated, that is not factory.
I have a similar switch in that general area. My car had an aftermarket alarm on it and the switch kills the engine. I would pull the panel and follow any wires to see where it goes.

The port next to the switch is your ODB port. You can plug a tool in and it shows you any trouble codes your car has.
