replaced timing belt - now p0340 code
I replaced my timing belt on a 2000 dodge stratus 2.0L and was very careful to make sure everything was aligned when I put it back together. When I was done it ran great for about 10 minutes then quit and wouldn't start back up. I pulled a p0340 code and replaced the camshaft position sensor since it was a cheap part but still it won't start. Any suggestions on what could be causing this problem? My wife needs her car! Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Re: replaced timing belt - now p0340 code
check your connector for the cam sensor; make sure it's OK. A possible other cause is the tone wheel on the cam gear is bad. When you replaced the t-belt, you didn't by any chance place a magnet near the cam gear did you?

the tone wheel on the cam gear is a calibrated sensor that the cam sensor uses to determine the position of the #1 cylinder when it's at TDC. Placing a magnet near the tone wheel now throws off the calibration. You'll need a new cam gear, which means, take the t-belt back off.
