350Z Project is in dire need of used tires

Well, I've done it!

While awaiting a confirmation from potential sponsor X for wheels and tires, I have almost run out of time. Mid-Ohio is in 2 weeks and even if we were to get the sponsorship confirmed tomorrow the wheels and tires will not be here in time.

Currently, the car has 18x8 wheels all around with 225/45/18 front and 245/45/18 rear Potenza RE040 that cannot be balder.

Any of the following sizes (in the quantity below) will work. Again, we just need something decent that will last the 3 days at Mid-Ohio.

235/40/18 (2)
245/40/18 (2 or 4)
255/40/18 (2 or 4)
265/35/18 (2 or 4)
275/35/18 (2)

The party that helps us out will be honorably mentioned on the project vehicle website: http://www.automotiveforums.com/350z/

Please email me with tire size(s), available quantity, and a price offer.

Phew!

We got ahold of 2 245/40/18 for the front and 2 255/40/18 for the rear. Both pairs are Bridgestone Potenza S-03.

The tires should arrive by the end of this week. Back on schedule!

Re: 350Z Project is in dire need of used tires

just out of curiousity, in regards to tire sizing...

did you see the article in SCC about putting the same 275's on the front and rear of their car?
with the tires, sway bars and an LSD, they got over 1 g of grip... far better than the staggered sizes...

Re: 350Z Project is in dire need of used tires

I certainly planned on doing that, even before that article came out.
The reason the tires are 245 & 255 right now is because the wheels are still stock 18x8 - 275 won't fit.

The plan as of now is to go with this setup:
275/35/18 F 18x9.5
295/35/18 R 18x10 (or 10.5)
Although more research is necessary to see what can fit up front - 10 or 10.5 maybe possible with minor modifications.

If we are to equip Advan A048 (wink wink) then we will probably go with 285/30/18 all around.

I should have a firm decision by the end of this week, next week at the latest, as we will be getting the wheels and tires.
