Timing problem

Hello, been a while since I have been here. What I have is a 2010 Equinox, 2.4 68K miles. Very good condition and I have kept up on oil and other items. At 30K they replaced timing chain under warranty. Now at 68K the POO16 and 17 codes popped up. No noise and car seems to be running well. But after replacing the crankshaft position sensor, both oil valve solenoids, and cam sensors, I decided it must be the chain even though it was quiet. Found some great videos and bought the Cloyers kit. Very easy job, intimidating at first but really not hard. Sure enough the fixed chain guide on the right was broke at top like usually they are. But the chain was not that loose and had not jumped a tooth. So i replaced the entire kit, and had a mechanic verify my timing marks and looked it over. After he said good to go I put it back together qnd the light still comes on. It takes longer now, than it did before, but same code. Car runs good so I dont know now. Any ideas, maybe phasers?

Re: Timing problem

Why was the chain replaced at 30K?

Was the tensioner replaced? Anything else?

Re: Timing problem

Hard to believe a chain would go bad at 30K, unless there was a tensioner problem OR AN OILING PROBLEM(they had oil orifice problems with Ecotecs in the early 2000 motors)....

Re: Timing problem

From what I have heard and they told us it was a bad heat treat process on a batch of chains.
