putty question
hi just wondering what kind of epoxy putty i should by for making body kits? quick type or smooth surface type? thanks

do a search, much info on this topic has already been brought up and discussed.
quickie version: quick type will dry harder faster, smooth type will not have a completely hard plastic feel (you can leave indents with your nail), but working with it is easier.

hi, thanks for the replies! actually i was using basic type of putty from tamiya to do some joints, however, when i try to sand the putty it was soft and the joints broke..so i looked at the FAQ and found out i should use the epoxy putty..is the quick type going to be really hard to sand down once it became hard? if i use the smooth surface type will it be not strong enough for me to sand the joints? thanks

The quick type is hard, it took me a little getting used to. But the stuff is great, I cant say anything bad about it. The putty sands great with 100 Grit sand paper.

Quick Type all the way, I havent done anywork with 1/24 scales, but heres an example of what it looks like.
BTW this is a Crummy Modifier. I need to stay away from those.. :< |
