Re: testors new mighty mini

Honestly, I think 95% of Testors products are crap, especially their airbrushes (like the Azteks).

Re: testors new mighty mini

go to www.harborfreight.com and search for airbrushes.
they have a dual action paasche that is t3h shizzo! and it is only like $60 shipped. while you are at it get a small compressor with either a pancake tank or the small hot dog tank for about $80 and they have all hoses and adapters right there. less than about $150 you'll have a hell of an airbrush setup. I have the cheap, central pneumatics, dual action set up and it works great for what I need it for, and it was like $15 or something.

Re: testors new mighty mini

how someone car pay 50$ for this crap

at this price, you have a Badger or a Paasche airbrush, not a toy like that

I really like my Aztek A340 (I think, it is the metal bodies one). Seems to work ok, what is it about them that is bad?

I should also add that I haven't tried any other airbrush like the paasche, are they that much better?

Re: testors new mighty mini

I'm on my third Aztec/Testors airbrush. They work fine for a while, then the air valve starts leaking and the air wont shut off. They are also hard to clean because they cannot be completely disassembled. I also have an inexpensive single action paasche airbrush made of metal. I havent had any problems with it, but the spray is a little coarse for my liking. I just got an Iwata Eclipse and havent tried it yet, but I'm expecting great things from this airbrush! It appears to be very high quality and precision made. I just hope it doesnt clog when using paint with coarse pigment particles (like flat enamels). If you're new to airbrushing or have a limited budget, an inexpensive one is okay. If you use it alot you will probably want a better one eventually. Good luck on your airbrush search.

Re: testors new mighty mini

I use a propellant AND the testors airbrush and I have no problem painting my cars. Of course I only use it for the interior and window rubbers....but it still works great.

Re: testors new mighty mini

Propellant gets expensive over time. Iwata's, Paasches, Badgers, and so, are much better than Azteks in most peoples opinion. Theres a long thread on the differences of the airbrushes, search for it.
