Just got a 1980 Datsun 210

Hey guys. As said I just got a 1980 Datsun 210. It's a sweet little car and I plan on restoring it. I was talking to the guy I bought it from and he had to replace the engine along the way. He said he put the larger engine in it when he did. Where do I look to find out what size engine is in the car? Any help would be great!

On the passenger side of the block there will be a flat machined area that will have the size of the engine stamped on it. It will either say A14 [1397cc] or A15 [1488cc]. It's more likely that he put in an A15.

I'm looking for the original intake manifold from the original A14 engine. Does he still have the old engine?

Thanks for the reply. It's too bad that the original engine was replaced because the '80 210's with the A14 engine had a one year only cylinder head [casting number 990] that had special small round intake ports instead of the larger ovals on the other A-series engines. These "mpg" models got killer fuel mileage, and were rated at 47 mpg. That's why I was looking for the intake manifold off of your original engine. It is a one year only round port [water heated] intake manifold. Hard to find nowadays and I'm building a special high compression fuel mileage specific A14 for this event: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.php/m-e-c-economy-run-ii-fonda-new-4721.html .

Hey that a beautiful car BeZerK2112 . I had one of these a long time ago. I am just curious how much do these cost now. And do you have any more pictures of it like the interior. BTW best of luck on the engine.
