First visit to this site. Problem.......I have a 1998 Hummer H1 that needs new batteries every year. Does anybody else have this problem? Is there something I can do to solve the problem? Just wondering.........

check your alternator, and check for lights staying on. is this a daily driver? does it sit for a long period of time? door actuators could be stuck as well, make sure all door locks work properly when you push the button

Re: H1 Battery problem
Thanks for the "reply" to my question regarding battery problems. The alternator has been checked.....so that's not the problem, but I only drive this vehicle a couple of times a week and for short distances. I'll check the door locks.

Re: Re: H1 Battery problem
Hi BKClark, I use to have this same problem but on a 2002 TJ Jeep, believe it or not he problem was the car stereo. Now I have no problems with the battery

Re: H1 Battery problem
First of all you need to determine if your alternator is charging enough voltage/amps. 2. Check the condition of the batteries. 3. Check for voltage drop/ Amp drop between the Main amp wire going between the alternator and the batteries. 4. Check connections between Alternator and batteries. 5. Check ground at batteries. 6. Check ground at engine to body. 7. Check for amperage draw from the batteries with all of the power off.
