timing belt or chain

Hi there guys, just bought 1992 jaguar sovereign with 75,000 miles on the clock. Going by past experience and knowledge i know it's advisable to have the timing belt changed around now, however being new to the Jag, i'm unsure as to whether it's a timing belt or chain. Could anyone advise please.

Cheers

Re: timing belt or chain

chain.upgrade the tensioner if not already done.you can tell if it has a retainer holding a pin in or not.you dont want the retainer type.the upgrade is about 90.00.and easy to install
