for 42,000? you could modify just about anything to compete with that. 42,000 goes a long way with aftermarket, especially with ebaymotors.

well sure, i can take a civic and make it faster than a supra for less than that.

not sure were you live but, here you can get a supra for 25grand. and also the same you can say for any car. even the corvette.

both cost the same and have the same performance, i mean i can say well i don't wanna ferrari cause with that money i can take a 300zxtt for 13grand and put 50 into it and it will kill the barchetta or the modena or whatever.

hell i can take a dsm for 3 grand and drop 5 into it and kill cobra's all day long

alright so atleast i know you thought it was stock for stock. so i have no problems with that. also that event already past and it turned out to be a EVO vs. STi event. and the EVO's were destorying STi's and WRX's. most were in the low 12's and some in the 11's. and even Big AL's 10 second EVO showed up. so in other words the EVO put a whooping on the STi's.

and yes that statement can be made for any car, i dont remember implying that it couldnt... all i said was if i can modify a car to compete with more expensive cars for alot less i will.

well, hell i can take a 5.0 mustang for 3 grand and drop 5 into it and eat up alot of high end cars all day long, for five grand i could slap a blower on it and a top of the lline suspension kit (so itll outhandle to)

its pretty hard to debate cars when you throw aftermarket into the mix caus ethe possibilities are endless.

Supra TT v. LS1

The way I see it, these are the 2 of the best street legal drag monsters out there. Both of these cars have so much potential for power. The Supra is (arguably) the fastest 1/4 mile car Japan has sent to America. I've seen 1,300 bhp Supras online and 1,000 bhp Supras at shows (honest). The LS1 cars have drag potential that so well documented on this forum I wont even bother describing it. Theres only so much power you can get out of a 4-cylinder. I love watching modded out Supras v. modded c5 Vettes at my local drag strip. Its one of the most heated feuds in all of (street legal) drag racing.

Supra vs. LS1, although i think a supra could take it if you're allowed to mod both cars.

and once i figure out a site that will host vids, i'll post up a vid of a supra smoking a cobra

It depends how far you wanna take your modding. I think if you're going balls to the wall, the LS1 will eventually be faster than the Supra.

It's not that shocking, Subaru has always been giving the US a tuned-down version of ther WRX's, we don't even get their high version, the S202. Mitsubishi gave the US a exact replica of their Evo-8 and I hope Subaru will do the same.
