Yeah your right. The F1 guys change their engine after every run.
And those 1600+ horse Skylines engines probably only live through the dyno test.

i think they should put some non-slick tires and put the side mirrors down and then do some more runs. kinda getting cheap there. that viper is freaking awesome though. 725 hp at the rear wheels!!!! thats freakin crazy!!! i wish i could work over at hennessey.

well slicks give you better traction causing you to go faster. no one tests 0-60 times and 0-100 times, etc... with slicks(that i know of). that car is still going to be faster than any other car i know, i just want to see "normal" times.

Todays F1 cars use NA, 3L, V10's with 825 hp.
In the 80's, they had 1.5L Turbod V8's with 1300(!)hp! Thats about the same power-per-litre as a top-fueler. Only a top fueler would blow up after a mile at full throttle.
Gives you some respect for those F1 teams, huh.

hmm... they ran slicks b/c it would literally burn the street tires off the rims. a 0-60 run would be a joke b/c of all the wheelspin with street tires... that is why the 0-60 runs in such high powered cars arent that great, b/c they are traction deprived unless they are running slicks...
and they are still killer cars

Motor Trend...i think may 2001 has the 800 TT and they say 0-60 is (i think) 2.4 seconds. that does not sound too bad. 0-100 is around 6 seconds. 1/4 mile is around 10 seconds

Mash:

DLM makes some great cars for drag racing applications. I know Doug and he does great work when it comes to superchargers. Don't try taking his cars out on a road course.

For the rest of you Hennessey fans, don't be blinded by all of the hype that is thrown out there about Hennessey, because he is on the verge of bankruptcy and has a habit of ripping people off.

Check out this link:
Hennessey Nightmare

If you did a search on the Viper Club BBS, you would also find that Hennessey has had numerous occasions to rip off Viper customers of his. Let the buyer beware.
