parts help, install help in Cincinnati Ohio

I just inherited a 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme coupe. I am picking the car up on the
28 but understand that it has a 5.0L V8 with only 40,000 on the engine. (great
grandmothers car) I have about 1500 hundred to put into the car right now and would like
to make it a little quicker. What suggestions do you have as far as parts, who to buy them
from, and what order to purchase them in. My primary concern is how it sounds and
adding a little spend to the car. P.S. Does anyone live in Cincinnati Ohio and know
someone who does engine work on the side and would be willing to cut me a great deal
on the install? Thanks Joe

cam

first thing i would do is pop a camshaft in,,you'll have to get new pushrods while you got your engine tore apart. I would make sure you get a overlap or a loop camshaft.
