Re: suspension lift!
Not sure how it related to lifting a Jeep, but in my high school days shackles were used to raise the back ends of our race cars. They essentiall lift the frame off the leaf springs. They are just a 2" or 3" bar that bolted to the leaf spring mount, and the leaf spring now bolts 2" or 3" down at the other end of the shackle.
The traction bars were used to help prevent the differential from twisting the leaf springs due to torque. They bolted to the leaf springs acting as a 'kick stand' or 'stop' helping to keep the tires turning, not the differential. I hope this helps... |

Re: suspension lift!
Shackles are used to connect the leaf springs to the frame of the jeep, they lift the rear that provides you better off-roading, and Traction bars are the axle that connects to the frame with Heim's joints helps keep you going straight down the road without slipping
