Do you think it's because iam 1500 miles from my last oil change LOL? Any advice is nice, oh yea since i havent been here awhile i have a 96 VR4

Re: Anybody have this problem?
Sounds like the alternator maybe wearing down. The battery light is going away when your rpms go up, because the alternator belt is moving faster. Do you have an accessory like a turbo timer that has a battery gauge, if your voltage is staying between 12-14volts at idle you are ok, if lower, something needs fixing. Where did you get the alternator checked? Do your lights dim at idle?

it could be something as simple as like a battery cable or a loose connection... or something connected wrong.... if u have a volt tester or something of that sort u could check it urself....its cheaper than an alternator if u dont need it

Re: Anybody have this problem?
i had it checked at Auto Zone and they told me my batter was fine and the alternator was working good to. I dont know why it's on and my lights never dim and i had my car idleing for 20 mins one time cause i had to run into a store and took longer than i thought so what do you think now. Oh yea one more than i have batteracid on the Positive side i think the red one i been meaning to get it off but i havent yet u think that could be the problem?

I had my alternator and battery checked at Auto Zone and they told me that everything ws good
Now that i think of it the positive side has a film of batter acid around it you think that could be the problem? I been meaning to get rid of it but i been really lazy lately.
