'01 no start, batt ok,starter ok,batt term ok

2001 Maxima with a no start problem. Have checked out battery, starter is giving it all it can, battery terminals cleaned, positive one replaced. Car turns/rolls over, but will not fire up. Can smell fuel when trying to fire up. Where to start, please?

Easy test for MAF is to disconnect its wire/plug (shorted MAF can kill engine)

Next check for spark: find spare plug, pull one coil, insert plug, ground it, start and see if spark present...

Hi, and thanks for the note. I am familiar with MAP, but not MAF. Could you please explain what it is? Thanks.

Mass Air Flow meter, intake air flow measurement. The blk tingie after air filter... Normally it cant kill engine but if its shorting, then may do that... Unplug, engine will start and run in safe Mode = 2.2k rpm ceiling.

Check my web site p9, link below; functions are the same as in older models.
