home mechanic
I have a 01 grand am,I recently replaced the fuel pump & Float assembly in it.
I keep getting a code of Po442. I have been under the car 2 times and checked the evap line & connection to the cannister,Also checked the filler hose to make sure the clamp was tight. this code keeps coming up and i've errased it several times. Do you suppose my fuel cap could be the culprit? I would like to here everyones input on this. Thanks, Home Mechanic,Ohio |

Re: home mechanic
I'd replace the gas cap, they cost like $15 and you can buy a locking cap for about the same cost.

Re: home mechanic
Thanks-Xeroinfinity I think I am going to do that ,I've checked out your rides they look pretty cool.Like I said I only drive this car during spring, summer&fall It has never seen salt. The car is like new inside and out and I cover it in the garage over winter(Darn Cat) He likes to leave his paw marks on top of things, But I don't have any Chipmonks Or Mice.
Thanks again I will let you know the results. |

Re: home mechanic
Well I was on my way to work and the CEL came on.And guess what it was PO442,I think I am going to remove the line from the canister and check that connection out, I did replace the gas cap and it seemed fine for a day.
