Help - Ford Sierra 2,0 DOCH Engine Problems !!
Hi Guys, I am a guy from Norway which have a seriouse problem with my Sierra 2,0 Doch 1991 modell. The engine is really hard to start and when you finaly get it started you need to work with it to the the rev up..! We tried to give it some "start gas" and then it rev up more easy, but there is no tourqe in the engine at all. And it runs like a "Lada" on low rev, so there is someting seriouse wrong. We have tried to change all of the sensors around, including the "brain box" and there is no change in anything what so ever.. So I thinke there is something we are missing out on here, the spark on the plugs are fine and fuel pressure are fine but its just like its not getting the right amount of fuel....!
Hope there is some out there which have had the same problem and are able to help out here - thanks in a million - to cold to walk around here in deep snow!! Thanks Arne |

did you car make a rattling noise from the engine as it fires up? If so, it could be a worn gear on the distributor assembly. This causes the timing to go out when you start, until eventually it has worn away so much that the car cannot start (I think that the TDC sensor controls this function as well..) [i'm assuming you have an injection model, i don't know about the carb setup!]
or, it could be a badly blocked fuel filter..? |
