Tamiya Nissan Z GZox
Where do we start with this one...
While it's awesome that S27 did a decal set but this has to be the worst quality decal I have ever used. I understand they are probably about 10-15 years old but I've used Fujimi decals from the mid 90's which were better than these. The first to go were the orange decals - just fell apart. Then the special chrome decals did the exact same thing. Luckily I photo-copied the sheet so I could use it as templates to mask and paint in SMS fluro orange and Mr Metal Chrome. I lost a few other decals along the way due to brittleness as well and while it isn't perfect I'm still happy with the result. Hope you like it! |

Re: Tamiya Nissan Z GZox
Wow, a good save. Airbrushing the orange may have been a blessing in disguise, as decaling those complex curves at the rear would have been a challenge. I admit to wanting to build this very car but being scared of by the decals. Glad you were more brave than me!

SMS paints now do a hyperchrome which would be more suitable too than what I used. |
