Re: Ford Escort RS1800
B)
nice detiling on the dash. I'd reduce the height or thickness of the bumpers. It is a feature on this model that I've seen on finish models that ruin the model. View some reference photos and you'll see. I hate making these suggestions as I've not built one myself yet..which is hypocritical really. Last edited by Boreham; 03-29-2015 at 05:22 PM. Re: Ford Escort RS1800
Don't apologize Punch you're right the bumpers are too heavy. I appreciate the help. Now that I have clear picture of the driving light brackets I see that I got it wrong as well. The down leg of the bracket goes behind the bumper not on the face. I'll work on these issues. Thank you.

Re: Ford Escort RS1800
Fireball Modelworks sent me pictures of some painted samples. The sliver wheel was paint applied directly to the resin and shows the true detail level of the wheel. The blue wheel was primed then painted and the finish is a little to thick.

Re: Ford Escort RS1800
So I checked the front bumper height against the rear bumper and the fronts are a full 1mm taller. So thanks to Boreham for pointing this out I was able to correct them. Here are the revised bumpers. They still need a little more shaping but I think they look much better.

This came out nice, but check the opening of front indicator? You need to engrave it a little bit Kimmo |

Re: Ford Escort RS1800
You must be them for him, Fireball Modelworks. He has a website http://www.fireballmodels.info/ but I am not sure they are listed as available just yet.
I don't even have a set yet

Re: Ford Escort RS1800
Those Minilites look absolutely fantastic. You are doing a superb job of upgrading a very mediocre kit. I wish some manufacturers would put this kind of effort in and re-life some of the several poor kits. But that would take some of our fun and frustration out of it for us. Can't wait to see the body painting.
