1988 22RE 4x4 starts and dies

Starts, then dies after a couple seconds or as soon as you hit the gas pedal. So seems to be a fuel issue... but... I have proper fuel pressure at the rail, fuel pump is operating correctly, all ECU wiring voltage tests and resistance tests listed in the shop manual are in spec, AFM seems to be operating correctly and gives correct voltages per position, injector resistance is correct, injector resistor solenoid resistance is correct, and battery voltage is present on both wires going into injectors at connector. Fuel filter was just replaced and with proper fuel pressure I don't see how that could be the problem anyway. It will run indefinitely at any RPM as long as someone is pouring gas into the intake. I've tested the main relay as well as the one behind the glovebox and both are functioning correctly.

Any ideas?

couple suggestions, if it has a vacuum hose going to the fuel pressure regulator unplug it and see if that does anything. also take the return fuel line off and stick it in a bottle and make sure you have fuel coming out of it in a decent stream. i have see car that have the right pressure but almost no volume. will need to check that with the vacuum hose connected
