2003 Ford Escape Limited Catalytic Converter Failure
Has anyone had a failure of their Catalytic Converter. My dealer suspects the loss of power due to a clogged Catalytic Converter. Anyone else had this problem or know if this will cause a lack of power on steep hills or rapid acceleration?
Thank you. |

How many miles?
Unlikely...mine (Tribute) has 71,000 and no problem with cat. Is it downshifting? |

I wouldn't say that this is common, but I have seen this occur with four different cars, all different makes.

same here.... on Jeeps and other brands, but not the Ford escape or Mazda tribute (yet).
How high does it rev in a gear that is not overdrive? |

I had both Cats(front and firewall side) blocked. I had to replace both on a 2002 Escape 3.0
