"Furious" Delorean - opinion
Hi people. Haven't been here in a long, long time.
Anyway, I got a project that may interest some of you. Here's the story: -A few days ago I was surfing on ebay and found a Aoshima BTTF Delorean kit I always dreamed of owning for a mere 4£ starting auction. Because I really haven't got an acount on ebay I asked a friend to buy it for me [as I will pay him later, of course], and that almost made me lose the oportunity as he only bought it with 1 minute till auction ended. Story over, now the subject: -Since I saw that kit I've been thinking about the possibility of doing a "Fast & Furious" kinda look on the 1/24 Delorean kit. Of course I woudn't ruin the original doing it, I'de make a resin copy. I got a photoshop preview of the project at http://www.deviantart.com/view/7145057/ or my hpage http://deloreanakahachi.deviantart.com Thank you all and if I don't come back in a while...I wish you all a merry xmas and a happy new year |

Why not modify the Polar Lights 'Back to the Future' DeLorean for your project, instead of making a resin copy?

Honstly i dont like the "rice" look but it would look good as a high performer like pro touring look.

I have always wanted to do a tuner version of a DeLorean but (i dont want to offend you) I think this is more of a ricer then a tuner. The color graphics and "sponser stickers" and the wing don't do it for me sorry. Try taking more of a classy approach.

Re: "Furious" Delorean - opinion
Thank you very much for all your feedback
As for ATMDC: A resin copy, as far as I've known for years is exactly making a mold of the original plastic part and then use epoxy resin on the same mold for a copy For more info see the resin casting tutorials from dag65: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=188447 http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=189039 Honnestly that photoshop was somehow inspired by the rice world I've seen from the F&F movie (I live in Portugal, we don't have any ricers here...only really ugly looking bodyworks). One of my goals is doing a ProCar "look-a-like" version later (with another copy) that will feature some looks of the ProCar BASF BMW M1 Another Delorean...painted black will be my slot car racer, hehe Please share even more ideas, I'de like to know some more as I may start a serious project involving this Once again...if I don't come back in a while I wish you all a merry xmas and a happy new year |

Re: "Furious" Delorean - opinion
It would be excellent to see a stock-bodied DeLorean; especially one for sale

Hehe, thank you for your replies ppl
tonioseven you'll see one stock soon ...I just dindn't get the "for sale" part, can you explain? ToxicWaltz that's one of the 1st hpages I saw about Deloreans My special edition DMC will be the one the character from my comics drive, a black painted D with ractive mufflers and Mille Miglia HT3 rims (18" front and 19" rear...of course the slotcar wount be able to have diferent size rims...yet) and sporty interiors (RECARO seats, MOMO swheel, etc). Before I forget...not to waste another tread, here is my actual project: -Wangan Toyota Celica GT-R racer (Tamiya model) A japanese tokyo bridge street racer, this one will be painted dark purple (I hope). Features will be: custom converted slotcar chassis, static Apex look headlights, real front grill, tiny putty molded front spoiler and side skirts plus a rear air-extractor (we call'em that here in Portugal) or difuser, tiny lift of the original wing and a new set of rims wich I really haven't decided. This one will be a slotcar with FF layout as I will actualy put a transversal motor conected to a front diferential. It's my 1st FWD slotcar so wish me luck . I'll put updated pictures as soon as I get it moving. This is the original model I'm using: http://www.hobi2001.com/hobi/tamiya/...orts/24086.htm I got addicted to this forum...I can't be away for much time Keep giving ideas ppl Be back later, promiss |

Re: "Furious" Delorean - opinion
Almost right. There was a crapy quality 1/25 scale stock Delorean kit made by some illigal chinese brand. I saw it once 7 years ago at a kit car event.
