Yeah, it was a great article, I liked how they also focused on the problems in company that it had. What surprised me too was the weight, and the skidpad of 1.3. I know the skidpad isn't the only factor in handling, but 1.3g has to say something.
As for the weight, it saddened me greatly. If Bugatti didn't make Bugattis but instead real track cars, this Veyron would provide ample competition ofr the TVR Speed 12. As is, I think Bugatti missed a real opportunity to create the ULTIMATE road car. Hey, maybe they'll make a Veyron later that is trimmed down, a real racing car for consumers. HEHE...drool. |

Rated at 987 hp at 6000 rpm, the W16 also boasts 922 lb-ft of torque from 2200 to 5500 rpm. Bugatti admits it missed the initial target weight of 1550 kilograms (3417 pounds) to meet the latest crash legislation in Europe and the United States. Bugatti officials say cars will tip scales at about 1600 kilograms (3527 pounds). This should give the Bugatti a motorcycle-like 3.6 pounds per horsepower.
From an article I read. about 800 pounds under what pop. mechs. said. I wonder which is right. I hope the 3500 is.... incredible ![]() |

The EB110 (all 139 of them) had four turbos on its 3.5L DOHC 60-valve V12. The Veyron will be priced right around a million dollars US.

whats the big deal!?!?!
this car actually isnt very impressive. the koenigsegg is the most impressive. Its a v-8 super charged. the bugatti is a w16 and it has 4 turbos. Now which car is more advanced? U tell me. A v8 that does 245 mph or a w16 that that needs 4 turbos to go 20 mph fater. Kinda sad actually. koenigsegg all the way!!! They have single turbo toyota supras that produce close 1000hp on a v6 motor and the bugatti needs 4. hmmmmmm
