Changing a starter: 2000 S80 turbo
I would appreciate any advice on the difficulty of changing a starter in a 2000 s80. I have changed starters before, but considering the price my mechanic is charging I was curious as to whether it was difficult to get to, or if something else had to be removed first in order to replace. Thanks in advance for any info...

Re: Changing a starter: 2000 S80 turbo
Removing the intake makes replacing the starter pretty simple. Removing the intake manifold is really not that bad of a job, but time consuming.
Now you know why the mechanic's fees are high to change a starter on a Volvo! If you needed a kidney replaced, would you attempt the job yourself or leave it to the pros?
