And further confirmation of the chassis number is in the comments:

For the pedantics among us, technically 10R is also Blood Red.

Lol, even I can tell its not 10R

I wasn't suggesting that it could be 10R. I was just commenting on the fact that the two cars share the same paint color - a slight contradiction to what he wrote.

Nah - my fault. Sense of humor isn't what it used to be.

Are those one of the necessary fixes on any F1 that hasn't been run on a regular basis? And is it expensive to carry out?

Any high pressure fuel system that has been standing unused may have seals etc that have degraded and it's allways prudent when re comisioning a car toreplace all perishables, that includes the bag tank some £5,000 at my last information.

And in the scheme of things, £5,000 to ensure your MclarenF1 doesn't burst into flames is quite a good deal!

Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet

Thanks, and very true. And 5,000 Pounds for an entire fuel system including the specialized bag tank doesn't seem that bad really, when compared to the slightly outrageous 600+ Pounds Mercedes-Benz are asking just to replace the set of 4 multi-function steering wheel rocker switch-buttons on my Dad's W220 S-Class.

And is 5,000 Pounds the price quoted by McLaren themselves, or Lanzante Limited?

Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet

£5,000 was for the tank only and that was back in 2007 I suspect it may be over double for a full fuel system rebuild.

Even £10,000 sounds pretty cheap in the scheme of things...

I am certain someone else will have a more up to date figure for such work as the tank should be replaced every 5 years

The car "in Costa Rica" has actually been back in the USA with a new owner since the middle of 2009.
