97 Jimmy - Overhead Info. Display Flickering When Headlights Are On.

The overhead information display (temperature, compass direction, mpg, etc.) has started flickering when the headlights are on. It does not flicker otherwise. Is this something I should try to track down or just ignore? Any ideas of where to begin?

First check would be battery cables clean and tight. And follow the ground cable to clean/tighten that end.

A new alternator fixed this problem. Maybe a bad voltage regulator?
