Smile buying an XK8

Hi, I would like to know if there are any blatant problems with the 1997 model? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks -- I'd rather save for a newer model than go through the headache.

Re: buying an XK8

I have a 97 xk8 convertable and its the dogs.

Its all about looking after it. Get the timing chain tenshioner done and use high octain low sulphur ptrol and you wont have any problem that later models dont have. It likes to be driven!!!!!!!! short journies are a no-no get it warm and drive it like it should be and the engine will last no problem.
