Re: Refurbished speakers

Go for it. They will come with a limited warranty...pound 'em good the first few days, if they hold up you got lucky. If not, you return them for another set. Keep doing this until you get ones that hold up the initial break-in period, and they should last awhile. The only real con is that you may have to hassle with returning a set or two. Make sure you investigate the brand your after and that they pay for shipping back and forth for returns.

Re: Refurbished speakers

Depends on who does the refurb, if it was done by kicker than it should be fine but i have heard of some places that can "refurb" the subs, not sure if i trust someone unless there actually authorized by the company and it also depends on what was wrong with the sub for the reason for refurb. It could have been a recone, or replacement of the entire motor structure, its like a rebuilt motor they reuse old parts and replace whats broken with new ones.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
