08 3500 steering.

This should be fairly simple compared to my usual questions on here. I traded in my old 5.9 for a 08 3500 with 2wd. It tracks great and feels really solid while driving, just a little more play in the steering wheel than I like. Nothing major just more than ideal. I drive a lot of very rough dirt back roads. Around 20 miles a day till I get to a highway. I'm sure the washboard and ruts are not helping and I try to keep my speeds below 45, 30 in the worst areas. Is there any simple way to lessen the play in the steering wheel that will be effective long term with the kinds if roads I drive on? Again its not too bad, just want to keep it from getting bad like my old pickup. My budget is very small at the moment, so the simpler and cheaper the better.
