Id say close race if both were stock and the max was 5 speed. Oh and BTW that avatar is a lil friuty!!!!!

Yes, yes it is.

I did a little reading, assuming both were stock, the VTEC pumps 195 hourses, at 7000rmp and 156 ft/lbs of torque and 5600, and weighs just about 300 lbs less...

would the max's higher torque make up for it's numbers in the other areas?

i'm pretty sure the prelude would have the advantage here, 300 pounds is quite a bit...

I've beaten a prelude. not sure what year. according to edmunds the 97 lude is 3047 lbs. my car weighs 2895.

if were talking about the quarter mile here I would say the max would take it because of its huge torque advantage. And preludes have to wait for there power till its vtech opens up the maxima have most of its power in all rpm range. quarter mile maxima walks it. Highway I never raced a prelude longer than the quarter mile so its tossup.

yeah, if the prelude does really weigh that much, then the max definitely has the advantage, especially with 5 speed

ive never raced a Prelude though!!!! I walk on the 2 door accord v6 98-2002's all day though. But its funny, I once tied with the 4 door v6. He had both intake and exaust.... explain that one

Cheated or didnt mention he had something like a better shifter or made his car lighter?? The VQ are like the best out there so I am suprised u tited with a accord 4d v6 he using a cart engine.
