To weld or not to weld

My sister damaged my brand new ralliart the other day:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFaFk2k2PzY

I took it to several body shops, and finally settled on one. They're going to replace the skin. Now, forgive me, I don't know much about auto body parts and the process, but when I asked about the possibility of rust (because my rust module's warranty will be voided once anything is done to the door), he said he's seen some really good results with some glue. So instead of welding the skin to the door... frame? (hope I'm saying this right!), they glue it so there's glue in between the two metals and it won't rust.

Sounds about right? Or no?

Re: To weld or not to weld

Like bodymanhelper said, there may be a few welds, but for the most part, skins are bonded with adhesive or glue. It does help with corrosion and holds well. To test it, we have glued to metal tabs together and pulled it on a frame machine to determine how much pressure it would take to pull it apart. Every test, the metal rips or tears, while the adhesive never fails. However, extreme heat can cause the adhesive to lose adhesion, but this should be a problem.

Hi

We do run a bead all the way around on the frame for crrrosion protection before we put the skin on.

To weld or not to weld

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, SendMail works on regular RSS channels but still does not work with Webscrape apart from when the channel was first created. There doesnt seem to be anything in any of the logs.Im thinking that maybe Webscrape doesnt trigger an event everytime it updates - any thoughts?I appreciate the help
