Great work Alex. I understand your frustration with the little things no being perfect but that said, your 99% was always better than my best effort so I can only admire the quality of your work and aspire to being as good.

Thanks, once the interior is done, there really isn't that much left, as there is no chassis detail and most of the exterior elements are basic. Should be on home stretch once interior is done.

Well, BMF usually is not a bad way to go, but only is you have something to stick it onto. In this case, PE frames ARE the backbone to which the windows are glued, so I can't really eliminate it. Also, BFM would not have the depth and engraving that PE frames have (especially on the side windows).

Overall, I don't think it turned out bad, just painful to put together.

Oh man, it might not be apparent, but I have, I have big time.

Ha, I think you being too kind. Pictures make it look better than it really is. I need more practice that's for sure.

Thanks all!

So Alex, the burning question is, if this one is nearly done, what build is next on your bench?

Some simple curbside from Tamiya or Fujimi, without PE window frames, probably.
Not sure, got a few started back when and never finished, maybe one of those.

Re: 1965 Ferrari 206P Dino - Forgotten Prototipo

Well Ladies and Gentleman, its time to wrap this WIP up.

Interior was assembled, I added some scratched door handles, cranks, pedals, floormats.

Dashboard was detailed with a few switches, lamps, and gauges. I added small rings to the clocks, and of course, Pininfarina badge.

Completed interior tub:

Then interior was glued into the body, wheels attached and chassis plate installed. Not a lot of detail to talk about there.

Blinkers were made with photoetched frame, and some BMF, and then I used Microscale window maker to make the actual lens.

Taillights were assembled:

And then back end was put together – taillights, exhausts, plate frame, plate light. The DINO letters were stolen from one of self-adhesive Ferrari sets made by hObby DesIgN.

Door handles and Pininfarina badges:

Added air valves and some weights to the wheels:

Wiper and wiper arm were assembled from spare parts, I also added some PE quick-release fasteners and DINO emblem from Model Factory Hiro sticker set.

And that concludes this build. A few quick photos next to my house, will do a proper photoshoot soon and post completed thread in the gallery!

Re: 1965 Ferrari 206P Dino - Forgotten Prototipo

Thanks guys, the model is not perfect, but if there is something I learned by building this model, its that I think I no longer bothered by little imperfections and not going to loose my sleep over the fact that the model is not 100% correct.

I tremendously enjoyed the process of actually BUILDING it, and if I were to correct all the flaws and make it accurate, that would probably take the FUN out of building it and most likely leave me with an unfinished kit that I lost interest in.

Aside from that, I think that was not the best kit to get back into modelling after a hiatus, but I'm happy to complete this, shake the rust a bit, and put another one on the shelf!

Thank you all!
